WEIGHING your options

Menopause started for me almost immediately following my 49th birthday. It was hard for me to control anything that was going on in my own body. It was frustrating and emotional. My hormones were out of control. I didn't even FEEL normal. I kept seeing my coworkers losing weight on Ozempic and if I'm being honest, I even considered it for myself. However, I know that it's a temporary fix and weight gain following Ozempic is highly probable (because let's face it, nobody can be on it forever unless you are a diabetic.) That coupled with the fact that people who actually NEED Ozempic for diabetes are finding a shortage of supply due to the population of people who are using it to lose weight. I didn't want to contribute to that problem.

I have done it before. I lost 72 pounds in about 6 months and how I did it wasn't any fad diet, pills, or shakes. I was 197 at my heaviest and I dropped down to 125 at my lowest since my 20s (lol) How did I do it? With food. Healing your body from the inside out. Turns out, fueling your body and changing eating habits are easier than one might think. In turn, you may have sensitives to food groups and not even realize it, so it begins with an elimination plan to detoxify your body, then slowly adding food groups back into your normal intake, and finally maintaining by eating the right food combinations to fuel your body 80% of the time and off plan 20% of the time to make it sustainable.

As I said previously, menopause and hormone imbalances wreaked havoc on my body, and it affected everything including my progress which I maintained for 3 years without any problems. I started gaining weight and there was really nothing I could do about it until my hormones stabilized. For 10 months, I struggled with the hormone imbalances and everything that came along with it, but then one day I woke up and I felt normal again (so don't get frustrated if you go through these crazy hormone changes- you'll be in control again) and that's when I sprang into action and started the same program I used to help me before. I started Oct 16 and 3 weeks in, I was down 17 pounds. I'm in phase 2 and am still losing weight. I'm down 25 pounds total today.

I know this works, it's easy to do, it's the natural way to shed unwanted weight, and teaches you how to fuel your body effectively as well as which food groups you should avoid.

Timeline:

The picture on the left is me (with my son) at my heaviest in April of 2019 and the picture on the right is me at my lowest 125 in October of 2020.

This picture was taken a year ago before menopause started!

This picture was taken within the year in full perimenopause.... :(

This is me today! One of my goals was to be able to wear a crop top comfortably without a t-shirt. I have reached that goal even though I know I still have work to do, I'm ready for my next goal!

It's called a journey because it's never over. You will have ups and downs, but in your travels, if you learn how to help yourself, you can reach your goals.

The program I used is included in the nutrition program if you're interested in adding on to your current membership for only $25 a month. I share the entire program as well as other meal plans, recipes and everything you need to maintain or lose unwanted weight.

I'm not posting this to try to upsell, I'm just sharing information that may help you along your journey because as I always say weight loss starts in the kitchen.

During the phase one elimination plan was there anything specific you did or is it just basically eating grilled chicken with no spices?

There is a whole list of foods you can eat in phase one. Way more than chicken and vegetables. Merrilee gave me access to recipes, which were super helpful with menu planning during phase 1 and 2
